Puerto Rico in the winter offers insane wave riding. It is definetly a place you need to be flexible for travel. Sometimes it won't blow for two weeks and then bam! it's on for a week straight. Anything form head high surf to 20 foot bombs in the winter. Some places are a little more exposed to dangerous reef, others like the one below are pretty mellow sand bottom wave spots. For flat water head south in the summer to La Paguera. Probaly the best place to stay is down by Shacks at Villa Tropical. They have beach front cabinas that will make you jealous if you're staying somewhere else. The local shop in San Juan would be Velauno
