Family Vacation

We have been looking for a vacation spot for a few years now that can encompass the entire family. I have been fortunate enough to travel to a number of places for wind but always have found it hard to find a place where my wife, child and I can go where it is not only about kiting. We just got back from Acapulco, Actually south of Acapulco called Playa Diamante. We stayed at the Mayan Palace but there are many hotels on the beach there. I surfed everyday in the morning (beach break that is fast) and kited in the afternoons. In between I was at the water park (at our hotel) with my daughter. While at the Water Park my wife was at the spa or the gym. They also have a golf course there and other courses were around the resort. The winds are best March, April and May. The beach is like 100 yards wide and goes for 6 miles. They actually held a kite contest in front of the Mayan a few years ago you can check it out by typing in Acapulco at kiteforum.com. We were riding on 12m kites. The nice thing about Playa Diamante is that it is away from town and other than we had to go out to find a nice place to eat dinner everything was right there. If you want to party Acapulco is the place but for family's I highly recommend Playa Diamante. You can also get a great idea of the beach by google Earthing, Mayan Palace, Acapulco, mexico.
