I won't comment further on it, but here goes:

You're talking shit about a kite you yourself haven't even flown and trying to influence people to avoid buying a kite you haven't flown - lame!

I've flown Links, Revs, Rev2's, Octanes and the Rally is by far my fav to date. I would think wisely before paying attention to unsolicited advice by someone who has NO personal experience with the kite.

Being curious to see where you may have seen such a comment, I went to the usual suspect, and of course, it's kiteforum! No surprise, but in the very same thread you're pulling from, two posts above it reads "I spent an hour plus on the Rally and was blown away." and a couple posts later the guy goes on in detail to describe why.

And in the video it's clear to see the RPM smacks the Rally and they both bounce around. You're such a joey, your cred is ZERO!

Prior to the main SS demo in August, I had a quiver of them I demo'ed to quite a few riders and everyone loved them and had nothing but totally positive comments about them and were stoked on them.

Same with this thread: https://www.bayareakiteboarding.com/for ... 5&start=60

I've flown them a bunch, everything from Rufus, to Sherman to the Bay on everything from a 6 to a 12 and they rocked. Just yesterday, got this email from a rider who just got a 6,8,10 quiver:

"I rode the 10 Rally today at Golden Gate fields. I LOVE that kite!"

From the other thread:

"Got to fly the 6M and 8M Rallys today at SI. The 8 will definitely be my replacement for my beloved 7M Links. "

"I tried the Rally 10m and I really like the kite, I wish I had time to try the 12m also."

"Super boosty, turned well with reasonable bar pressure."

"Kite turns fast and has very smooth turning and very smooth and linear power/depower. Kite is very stable and unhooks well also. The 12m turns very quick for a 12m, didn't feel sluggish at all, and felt almost as quick as a typical 9m kite."

"Riding the Rally was a blast i rally enjoyed the kite
i found it very stable and ez to fly"

etc., ad nauseam...

At the demo day when I demoed the Rally, the wind was super-funky, literally going from 7M conditions to 14M in minutes, and then back.

I was demoing the 6M Rally when this happened once, and the kite did backstall when the wind dropped to almost nothing. However, in my experience, kites do one of two things in this situation: 1)backstall, or 2) Lose so much power that the rider falls into the water.

Blaming a kite that you are flying for the first time for acting strangely in totally bizarre wind is just stupid. If my kites are acting wierd, I look around at other riders. Usually, other kites are acting oddly as well (although not always the same). Translation: it's the wind, stupid. If everyone else's kites look normal, then something is wrong.

My guess in this case: the "inverting" (which isn't what it's called, it's called "backstalling") was due to the wind. BTW: inverting is when a kite flies through its lines and ends up backwards. If 5 kiters had inverted their kites on that demo day, this would NOT be the first time we were hearing about it.

Um... here's my review of a bunch of other kites I've never flown... They're ALL junk.

C'mon now...Seriously. How can you dis something you haven't flown?

I have a quiver of the new Rally's (6, 8, 10) and as Ollie quoted me earlier in this thread, I do LOVE 'em.

They're well made. They're grunty with plenty of low-end. The 10m Rally is as powerful as my Naish 12m Cult, and turns much faster (no surprise). The bar is well engineered and the safety system works great. Simple bridles - no pulleys. They won't fly over your head and stall. Predictable. Super easy to self-launch and re-launch.

And they're lofty. I'm no pro jumper, but these kites have great hang time.

Try before you dis...
