2nd post in from Captain John pushing KiteTheBay.com.

Maybe Captain John should advertise with this website and help continue to make it successful? Since he is using it to be successful...

The main component not seen here is the attachment on the side of the boat. He has a very cool rig on the side that allows him to teach students 1 on 1 in zero wind. The pole that comes out is 10' and allows the rider to dangle from a kite bar without the hassles of learning both the kite and board. This will allow the rider to focus on board skills with a very similar pull angle as a kite. Once this step is achieved the actual kite lesson becomes MUCH more effective.

Wakeboarding helped me progress a lot faster with my board control. I think kiteboarding is like wakeboarding with a captain with a really really bad boat driving skills, boat with a high tower setup.

I stand to be corrected...I did not see a boom with a rider?? I do think we need to get away from gas powered boats though... as this is a pure sport.. that is all about the nature of the wind, water with O polution. I think we need to show the world that this is the way of the future if we are to save are only home. " ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) =; even the mav's crew is thinking a kite to tow in to the waves would be better then a jet ski. only use them for rescue =; NICE!!

Oh I'm sure a portion of all lesson fees are spent are carbon offsets, or maybe it's a hydrogen, biodiesel or hybrid boat or something...

Let me step in this..
i do agree with max ,once you learn to kite thats it.....
it go's upwind, downwind, and across wind..
no gas needed

but
this time of year there is little to no wind to learn comfortably
at the safe and sand friendly Alameda beach, shell gate or other wise

but out in the middle of the bay or up wind in the delta at kitetopia there is 20 knots or more just waiting to play..
you could do what most of of did and spend thousands of dollars on kites, to match the wind at
Alameda
or
pay some one with a boat or jet ski and go to the wind with one kite to match that wind
and then plaY
i was out in the middle of the bat today and i did not see captain john
i think he photo shops all them pictures
but there was some 20 or so knots of wind
