QUIKFIN - Kickstarter

Post by jonpnw » Sat Mar 29, 2014 8:59 pm

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on a product we're launching we're calling QuikFin. I used to wish there was an easy way to pop my fins off at the sandbar without dropping my kite and pulling out the screwdriver. Plus it's not fun to try and get the screws back in when the threads are filled with sand. After a lot of different tests and versions we finally have something. Ends up working pretty sweet for traveling too!

We've been working on it for the last couple of years and had some really good interest from some major players in the industry, both with kites and wakeboards, but decided we're going to do it ourselves. Just launched today on Kickstarter. We're a couple local kiters and a product guy with a lot of manufacturing experience. We're committed to making this a top quality product!

Unsure about kickstarter.com, but hard to believe a person can't borrow a few thousand from parents or close friends to make a mold, setup a website and start selling these things in a few months. I've done AL tooling in china for $1200. I wouldn't want to share profits of the one item i sold with "backers", if that's the point of kickstarter. i don't know. Maybe OP doesn't know any better - ie pm me, i could give you a contact to get you going. I'm sure you'll see these things.

p.s.

You don't share any profits with "backers." The backers essentially pre-pay for your product to help you get going. There is no equity/profit sharing on Kickstarter.

Also, it's Vancouver, WA not Canada.

Good luck QuickFin guys!
