WAY better colors on the surfboards. Nobody is gonna want to buy my 2012 board. +*!@

Just curious...why is there no cant on the side fins on the LF thrusters? Weird because pretty much all surfboards have several degrees of cant. Any ideas?

ok. so, I asked Julien (the designer) and he said:

Julien Fillion: in 2012 there was not.. it was to get the board to handle more speed..but in 2013 there is
Adam Rodriguez: why does cant affect speed? i'd expect toe angle to do that...how does cant affect it?
ulien Fillion: well, kiteboarders ride faster then surfers most of the time. Cant angle creates too much lift for kiteboarding. That was the school of though for 2012, same as Tow board.. zero camber.

soo, looks like they did it so the board would handle speed better. but in 2013 they added some cant back in....

Thanks Adam... very interesting. Makes sense. We do add cant to create some lift and speed on surfboards. Never really considered the possibility of to much. Having shaped surfboards for years, I'm just now getting into designing and shaping kite boards and details like this are going to be part of my learning curve.

If anyone has a chance to compare 2012 and 2013 models I'd love some feedback. I have a 2012 5'10" LF but not a newer one to compare to. Granted, any other design parameter changes my make isolating fin setup difficult.

I'm thinking of buying a DLX with boots to ride at 3rd. Can the LF pros help with a few questions:

1. What do you think about the DLX? I want to start doing wakestyle tricks but still have a lot to learn. I currently have a board that I use for freestyle (low rocker, good flex) and am planning to get the DLX as the high rocker / boots board. I wonder sometimes if it's too much board for me right now but am hoping I will get there soon, and that this will probably motivate me to push harder.

2. What size should I go for? 134 or 138? I'm 160lbs and 5'11" and ride mainly at 3rd.

3. What boots should I go with? Profile? Cradle? Ultra Kite? This will be the first time riding boots for me. Open toe vs. close toe? Lace up vs velcro? How are these things important? I assume I want flexier and lighter boots to begin with.

Thanks!
