The Thin Line: Life on the Edge

Post by OliverG » Sun Feb 07, 2010 8:55 am

This trailer is nuts and shows the truly extreme nature of downhill skiing. The speed and power is amazing, the crash make you want to look away.

RUSH HD presents THE THIN LINE: Life on the Edge, an exhilarating hi-def documentary exploring downhill skiing -- the original extreme sport. Commissioned by RUSH HD from Jalbert Productions, the official production company of the U.S. Ski Team, this beautifully shot, adrenaline-fueled 90-minute film paints a picture of the people and places that have made this alpine discipline one of the world's most dangerous and thrilling sports. Featuring historical and contemporary stories along with stunning POV footage, THE THIN LINE: Life on the Edge includes in-depth interviews with top downhillers such as decorated Americans Bode Miller, Daron Rahlves and Picabo Street, legendary Austrian daredevil Franz Klammer and many more.

These guys are true gladiators of our time.

I can't recommend enough trying to go and see a world cup / olympic downhill live, from the side of the course. Birds of Prey at Beaver Creek (late Nov.) is a no-brainer, you get a full weekend (downhill, SG and GS), the venue is amazing - just freeskiing it if you ever go there makes you realize what these guys are doing.
