New Accounts

Due to the increase in bots scouring the net for websites like this one to create new accounts automatically in an effort to post spam, all new user accounts are now manually activated. If you are creating a new account, please fill out the "Interests" and "Occupation" fields on the registration page so we know you are a real person interested in kiteboarding, and not a net spambot and can activate your account.

Then you'll need to make something up related to kiting. ;)
It's just a way to know if it's someone real or not. Most bots will enter things like "sex, phentermine, viagra, phones" etc. into those fields, but some new user registrations are blank...
If we had open registration or no registration required to post, the site would be trashed within a week... the bots don't sleep.
