Need Help Getting Started

Hey,

I moved to the Bay Area last fall, and want to get into Kiteboarding this summer, but I need some help/advice on how to get started.

I need to find a good place to take some lessons, does anyone have suggestions on the best company and what kind of lessons I should be taking? When do lessons start up in the spring? April? May?

I am going to need to buy a trainer kite and gear, does anyone have advice on what kind of equipment I should be buying (size, brand, etc) and about how much I should be paying for it?

Is there anything else I should know about?

I would greatly appreciate any help that anyone could give.

You'll find all roads will lead you to Alameda. Go on a windy weekend. All your questions will be answered.

beach, or off a boat at Alameda, and is already
open for season.What ever company you take
lessons from, your instructor will give you
expert advice on what size equiptment you
should obtain for this beginner friendly beach!

One more thing, Alameda winds can get very light
after June, so you should get your lessons done early
so you can get lots of practise in while there is more
good days of wind to be had!.IF you progress enough,
you then can start learning some of bays more advanced
spots, but Alameda is where you need to spend your time
for at least (about) 20 practise sessions.

We provide all the gear, including use of a trainer kite (if) you
have problems with flying 4 line kite. Dont think about buying yet
because you will learn loads from the lesson, and from other
kiters at the beach, then you will be making a more imformed
decision!.

just one more quick question... about how much will it cost to start up including:

lessons
kite
board
wetsuit
other equipment

Just think of it as making car payments for a year... it will cost about the same, and will all depend on how much you want to spend.
