So took the land course in the summer, got gear and stuff then ran out of money. Does anyone teach water lessons in the winter? Sounds like i pretty much have to wait for next season. The trainer kite is fun and all but I wanna get wet.

Can you wait six weeks? I think you will be able to get a lesson then. In the meantime, you might want to check out The Complete Guide to Kiteboarding from Kitefilm.com. You can check out the review of it here in the Video Reviews forum, it's a good dvd...

Better wait for the spring, most schools around here are closed for the season.

so does that mean just that the schools are closed or does the kiting suck in the winter too- I was thinking about hanging out there and getting some skiing and kiting in December-

Kitewindsurf starts lessons on April 1st. Wind is too unreliable this time of year to plan anything out. Also the winds are generally gustier in the winter than they are with the summer thermal winds.

Boardsports may be making appointments for lessons in the first or second week of March. Of course as always, weather permitting!, nothing is certain with windsports, i just got back from 3 months in Vietnam, and the wind was VERY poor through the first half of the high season there, with three sailable days in Dec.!!. With two poor seasons behind us in the Bay Area, we are due for a good one!!. Don B.
