I'm planning on being in South Lake 3-6 and North Lake 6-10. If anyone wants to try to get together up there for some snowkiting or Sierra @ Tahoe/Northstar, send me a PM!

National Winter Trails Day @ Hope Valley Sat. January 7th
Snowshoe & Xcountry Demo

This is Mark w/ Ozone Kites. I'm planning on doing some snowkiting in the afternoon on Saturday and all day Sunday at Hope Valley or near by spots.

I'm demoing Redfeather snowshoes at the NWTD event during the day if anyone is interested. The event is at the Xcountry resort.

I'll have a Frenzy 7.5 (& maybe a 12m) and an Access 6 + 10m for demo on Sunday for anyone interested. Spread The Word!!!

PM me if you have any ???'s about this weekend.

Damn, Josh. I'm stuck here all week this week, but I'm dying to get up and pull out the snowkites. the forecast is for south winds all week; Hope Valley is probably perfect. I'll probably head up next week.

I went to Hope on Tuesday afternoon. Highway shoulder was full of snow, so couldn't park there. Ended up in the Snopark area dodging angry snowmobilers. I tried to walk out to the meadow, but there was a pond or some water something or other partially frozen that I wasn't going to try to cross.

Hmmm. I don't remember any snowmobile park anywhere near the kiting/xcountry parking area. The only sled site I remember is at least a mile down 88 towards Kirkwood.

Were you just south of the intersection with 89, or farther down?

Since when do they own the mountain?? Maybe since they can go over 100 MPH....
Reminds me of the difference between sailboats and motorboats.

Hey, you'd be angry too if you had to shell out $10K for two sleds and a trailer and spent all day on your "day off" sucking gas fumes, only to have a snowkiter pass you.

Snowkiters go just almost as fast with no fumes and alot less $.
