Forecast for Sunday in the sierras:

700 mb temperatures are expected to be
around -5 and 1000-500mb thicknesses drop down to around 546 on
Sunday night. This will drop snow levels down to around 6000-7000
feet. This would bring the first snow of the season to the higher
peaks. The models are fairly consistent with this trough but the
timing may differ a little...especially as it gets closer.

Hey BDawg,
If you're interested in carpooling this winter to do some snowkiting, let me know. I live just west of Sac, so I have to drive through on my way. I haven't talked any of my local ski buddies into learning to kite yet.

It's going to cost twice as much to drive up there this year. That's why I'm getting some AT bindings for my skis and a foil kite, so I can hike up to the ridge when there's no wind down below.

I'd be up for carpooling to snowkite. Moving to Lodi in 3 weeks and I've got a 4wd Blazer with a huge utility box on top so I could take 4 with gear. :P

Mo Betta.

Gabe, you said you're not living in Tahoe anymore? Does that mean you're going to have to commute to the snow, too? Or are you spending the winter someplace warm and windy and mothballing your Frenzy...
