There will be an informal meeting at the Season-Opener party.
This meeting will be to about the development of "Kite Toys" being designed for Shermin and 3ed Ave.
To get involved please tap me on the shoulder at the party or ask around.

These items WILL be a TEAM EFFORT made of of local riders and outside sponcership. To be able to use this equipment- YOU will HAVE TO be part of this TEAM.. ALL RIDERS will need to join the group before they will be allowed to "play" on this equipment.... Membership will be easy- BUT NOT FREE!!
Cost will be on a "sliding scale", kids will be "keepers and sweepers" looking out for the equipment, Adults will need to put in CASH or LABOR, and no this wont come cheap ($20 bucks for the season wont do it)

If you want to be part of the fun- come to the meeting.
L.M.G.

I'd like to add some of "my idea's" toward putting this "thing" togather:

Many of you know my son died skateboarding-
In HIS HONER: I will insist on EVERY RIDER using a HELMET, NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!!!!!! If this cannot be agreed on by the TEAM's group conscience, you will have to go on without me- PERIOD.

Every TEAM rider will need to have a STICKER or some other way of indicating that they have made a contribution to the effort and SIGNED a WAIVER "before" they can hit the equipment- There will be NO EXCEPTIONS. Visiting riders will be required to obtain a DAY-PASS, they will have to carefully read the RULES, sign the waiver and then be RESPECTIFUL of the rules- including the LOCAL GUIDELINES: this in-part means respecting the NO JUMPING RULE (within the Bouy's). This is really common sense stuff and shows RESPECT to ALL RIDERS and our future use of the park it's-self.

Some of you might feel I'm a bit over-bearing, but since I'm spearheading this effort (at SHERMIN), I will tell you how to RETAIN my efforts.. If others want to take the ball and run with it- MY HAT IS OFF TO THEM!!

This will not be easy and it will not be cheap! I'm just begining to pull the loose end's togather, I WILL NEED YOUR HELP if this project is to proceed. Some outside sponcership "MAY" be available, for example, SlingShot has indicated they might work with us and "may" be able to cover the toy's with there liability policy. KiteNaked and Wainmen Hawaii have shown interest, and MAY contribute, there are others too but I'm in a "wait and see mode" as to how this pans out..

Without considerable effort this project WILL FAIL! I want to see it come together for EVERYONE. As you've seen in the past- I'm for REAL.. Those who want to play with me are going to have to be REAL ALSO..

The foundation of friendship is TRUST and RESPECT, I want all members to be TRUE FRIENDS- I'd like to work together to lay the groundwork.

Sincerly, Gregory Burton Boyington

On that note, let's make sure whatever we build doesn't end up like THIS:

(rather large file, animated gif . . .worth watching for ridiculous slider carnage)

I like the slow load time, it ads a little anticipation to the clip.

Good thing that was wood, probably took a good amount of energy out of the blow. Looks like if he kept holding on to the kite, he was gonna fly away with the slider attached to him.

If we form a non-profit, it would make corporate contributions easier to come by. Lightwave Dave lives just down the road from me. he might be interested in sponsoring some.

Ok, back on topic.

Starting a non-prof with true tax benefits takes time and $ ($750 application fee). Might be better to try to find a non-profit who would be willing to take this under their wing as a sponsoring agency. They basically put up the name, you get the donations through them.
