There will be an offshore component at times to the Alameda wind as this comes through - so be mindful of wind shifts. This is still not going to big enough for my new 7m...dang...

that dam north init could kill it
not only offshore but add a bounce toit too
it makes getting back to land harder

you are going today? I was more looking in going out tomorrow as it blows onshore (SW). the strong rain might not be that fun today i guess. so any recommendations for tomorrow? i hope it's going to be strong so I can get some use of my 5m ;-)

Alameda is definately going offshore from the southeast. Hopefully if it picks up we will get side shore at best.

Tomorrow will be windy everywhere. It starts out with cranking South winds as the tail end of the storm moves through and progresses to NW by the evening as the storm clears out. That makes the entire coast kiteable just about all day. The problem is that the SE PAPA Buoy is checking in at 19 feet which will make many beach breaks a mess and pretty unkiteable. If you're kiting in the morning, look for somewhere that faces a little bit south so that it's a bit sheltered from the swell. As the wind shifts around beach breaks like half moon bay should open up an be a bit more manageable wave-wise.
Either way, plenty of wind/waves to play with tomorrow, it's just about finding the mellower spots...

Alameda will be looking good most of the day Sunday.
Be prepared for storm wind (read shifty and gusty) that will clock to onshore and fade as the day progresses.
Smaller kites in the am with the flood O:)
Bigger kites in the pm with the ebb.
This system has been delaying its approach to land so that timing could be later...
Which also means it's putting more umph into an already big (nasty?) swell for the coast.

Man, it was cold today. I got to the beach to rig and walked back inside! What a waste of good wind! We'll have to make up for it tomorrow.
