Anybody going out in Alameda today? I'm in San Jose and got some of my kites packed up in my car. Takes me about 40 minutes to get up there. It would be cool if there's more than 1 person in the water. I figure its probably kiteable until about 1 or 2 p.m. then it will really get nasty.

Rey, those were my feelings exactly. You may not find a slew of kiters out today for that reason but if you do go definately watch out for those dark clouds. It's actually pretty clear right now and decent 10-12 meter kiting. But who knows what the hell will happen by this afternoon. All I know is that it would be a real bummer to get a whole week of gnarly wind and not get ANY of it.

Thanks Yuri,

I see somebody at the board sports shack just finished pumping up a Yellow Cabrinha. It looks like its starting to rain. I looked at your web cam. I got excited at first and thought that there were at least four or five kiters out there. After a closer look, the blobs that looked like kites were rain drops.

The wind here on Folsom went from 4mph to 30 in a matter of minutes. A friend was sitting out waiting for wind, almost ready to take out an 18m. Good thing the rain changed his mind. Hope no one got caught in anything like that today.

BTW, we don't get any yellow Cabrinhas up in Folsom. I feel like I'm missing some of the entertainment.
