Dave,
The answer to your question and the translation of the meteorology is:

Clearing winds come after a storm system passes through. The weather we are having right now is a continuous chain of storms generated by the same system/weather pattern. The pattern is not expected to break until the end of next week. Actually, if they're right, things are really just getting started. Next week, it's supposed to get REALLY stormy. At least we might get some real storm winds, though.

Clearing winds maybe end of next week/next weekend if real high pressure builds back in.

BTW, the NWS forecasters so far this fall year have been doing a great job predicting the weather. Being in a weather-related field, this makes a HUGE difference for my business.

Long range forecast is for an early winter (duh) in Norcal, lots of rain and clouds, and hopefully, snow.

sad but good for a laugh:

yesterday I checked the sensors hoping for a little S action at Alameda and this is what I saw

Lulls = 0 mph
Ave = 0 mph
Gusts = 1 mph
