Massive green blob on the radar off the N coast. Based on preliminary forecast it appears that Doran Beach is the place to be this afternoon. I know a lot of kiters don't like a wet kite but.........it might be time for some storm kiting........
Any Bay predictions?

Have you checked the Sherman sensor? Looks like it's on to me without the rain.

It was really warm here this morning for about 2 hours, but the clouds are rolling in now and the wind is really picking up, so the gradient must be flattening. My bet is that the wind at Sherman will clock around from WSW to SW pretty quick, but I'm sure someone caught this morning's wind.

One thing about storm winds: if you wait until they're good to head out, you probably missed the good stuff.

Yeah and it helps to have a short commute. To the wind, that is.

as it turned out, there was just a little S wind in the Bay - enough for one lap around Brooks I. Then came the swimin part - actually just layed on the kite and floated back.
CdoG, I was a bit worried about putting my feet down up there at M. Bay - I didn't want to be steppin on any 'bags of bones'. So I floated on the kite til the water was only 6" deep!

Medium range models have showed excellent consistency with timing
of weather systems through several runs. Per previous discussion...
next weather system crossing over w140w. Timing remaining for rain
on Friday over the Bay area with steady light rain likely for much of
the area once again. Some variability among the models on the
overall strength but confidence remains high for the event.
Dynamics will be different with the Friday event as a cool upper
low pressure is forecast to center over the Bay area Friday
morning. Precipitation forecast for 6 hour period during the
morning hours with lingering showers through the afternoon. Light
winds with this system. Precipitation amounts likely not quite as
high with dynamics a little weaker.

Forecast trends continue with a fair weather outlook for the weekend
for the central coast but another frontal system is expected to
bring rain again late Monday morning. Thereafter the GFS continues
weather systems crossing the central coast area about every 24
hours through midweek. Longer range verification times hint at a
ridge then building late Wednesday through Friday
