From our users:
Forgive me North for posting this. The rev had really light bar pressure but still responsive.
...the Rev may be the best all around kite made today.
This is without a doubt the fastest kite I have tried.
The people have spoken! O:)

One thing I willnever do no matter what is mislead people for money or kites or whatever. It's not in my blood. So if saying something good about another kite gets me kicked from North, then forget it. I truly think that north kites as well as any good product seems to sell itself. The few of us that are on proform are purely lucky. With that said. i tried the 9 rev in good 20 mph wind. I was very impressed. Really the only 2 complaints were the depower sticks if not used frequently, not so much concerned about the cleat below the bar but I think it should be up top. The other thing was the bar was a little sticky from all the lines going through it. But it was very stable, quick but not twitchy, nice bar pressure for riding all day long without un-neccessary fatigue. I really like above all else one pumps and 4 lines. But there is an advantage and disadvantage to everything. But i just wanted to say that I do think the rev is a great kite and will probably be the sole competetor this year to the new rebels, which need no introduction.

We are lucky to have so much great gear available to us these days. Yes, the costs are all over the map depending on where you buy from, who you ride for, if you are good friends with the retailer or seller, if you're a rep, know a rep, etc... But the bottom line is there's great stuff. The RRD Type 9 looked good out on the water too - and fast. Looked like it flew more like the Type Waves than the Type 7's or 8's.

Ramsey's review is awesome because of the effort he put into it, but also because we know he is a true independent, which can be rare online. Many of the vocal proponents of the particular brand they ride are getting support and discounts, myself included, but sometimes people don't always say so, which is why I posted this some time ago: https://www.bayareakiteboarding.com/vie ... php?t=3989 to try to get close to unbiased reviews (almost impossible, I know!).

My advice to anyone would simply be to try your top two or three picks more than once and in varying conditions and see what suits you best taking into account your style, preferences and budget. Someone's favorite kite and brand of choice is a very subjective thing. And don't buy into hype, peer pressure or ratings of 11 from me or anyone else. Just like your momma taught you when you were a kid...
