I can't believe it could be that serious. Why havn't they put a warning out on the news or radio? The only place I've heard anything is on this forum. I was in it for hours today and if I get sick and die from a kidney shutting down will somebody sue somebody for me? They are just not giving anybody fair warning. Being a hot holiday weekend there is gonna be a lot of people in the water including me.

Shuttles available upwind from Pittsburg and Sherman all summer. Come see what kiting west has to offer.

Me and the other 15 people out at SI this evening were looking really hard for the algae while we were kiting, but I sure didn't see any.

Kev. has a good point, and I don't think it's something you can or will "see"
I know they have been tracking this stuff for years and just recently the levels have increased to unsafe. I really think it's not good for kids and animals especially if it is ingested.

I would most worry about long body drags to get your board. I would wear a full suit and possably ear plugs.
Here is the IWindsurf link for those of you that missed it: http://forums.iwindsurf.com/viewtopic.php?t=13179

The funny thing is, there is so much other crap in the water why should we worry more about the algae?

This might account for the posts regarding flue like symptoms and runny noses posted earlier here on BAK

Well, see you on the water:

The wind was great today. I think Sunday and Monday will be just as good. See everyone out there.
