It looks like Alameda is the right call again! Wind on the coast is going SE. We'll just have to watch for the lightning.

See you there?

Hello all, I'm interested in braving the cold today if any of you guys are out there at Alameda... Is anyone out there today, I think the cams are down for the winter.

Thanks,

May

Oh man, that explains the tone of Paul's post about the forecast. That really, well, sucks. Has the cat's belly fur grown back?

bummer... I'm love to go out on Thursday, how do I read the windspeed report for pillar point in HBM:
http://www2.labs.agilent.com/Ken_Poulto ... #forecasts

Do I look at this section "point arena (nr Ukiah) to pigeon point (S of Half Moon Bay) to 20 nm-
point arena (nr Ukiah) to pigeon point (S of Half Moon Bay) 20 to 60 nm offshore-
304 pm pst tue dec 20 2005"??

If so here is the forecast:
.wed...s winds 15 to 25 kt. wind waves 2 to 5 ft. w swell 17 to
21 ft at 14 seconds. showers and scattered thunderstorms.
.wed night...s winds 15 to 25 kt. wind waves 2 to 6 ft. w swell
14 to 17 ft at 13 seconds. showers and scattered thunderstorms.
.thu...s winds 15 to 25 kt. wind waves 2 to 5 ft. w swell 13 to
16 ft. showers likely.

Thanks,

May

Pretty much the same forecast as today. Make sure not to let your jones get your hopes up if the sensors are reading nada.

Your forecast is the offshore forecast, up to 60 miles out.
Sometimes that wind will reach shore, sometimes it won't.
Check out the SF Bay forecast too:
http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mtr/getcwfzone. ... zone=PZ530
It says winds 10 - 20 for the bay with a chance of thunderstorms (gusty, holey, maybe lightning, come up fast, or not reach your spot at all).
It's not the typical storm, warmer than normal, more tropical, supposedly has a moisture tap heading all the way to the Phillipines.
By the way, the wave forecast for 4 days from now (yes it's a long way off) is off the color scale.
