i talked to kitechick friday afternoon down at the beach ,and she elouded to some gusyt stromie stuff that might happen saterday.
lets hope.

Storming occured today at Alameda, giant gust copletely took me out on my 14m, nantucket tea baggage, fith line even broke!!. i fixed the hole in my kite and have a spare bar, lets hope Sat. is fun also!.

Today could be gnarly out there today, be careful Charlie. What makes Alameda good in the storm winds? Is it more protected than other spots in the Bay...

Yes i am ok, i punched out when i could not catch up with kite by turning downwind, then 5th line broke which somehow allowed kite to fully power up while i was being dragged by leash, which then broke ring off harness before i had a chance to activate leash safety release.Looks like it was defective 5th line as it broke right at the sewn on piece inside of y split!, then line got snagged on one of the sew on loops that hold the grey line next to 5th line just far enough down to allow for full power in kite with bar fully released and resting against stopper ball!.I am glad harness broke, as i was getting flung around so hard i don't think i could of hit leash safety in the position i was in, and the force of the water!.Having a 5th line break after punching out of chicken loop seems to be very hazardous, and should be taken into consideration when self landing in strong wind!!!!!.

By the way that was no 10mph gust!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,storm conditions= anything is possible regardless of what sensor shows over at the marina!
