Slightly off topic still but - I recently kited stevenson also, up in the Gorge... absolutely the skechiest launch ive been to yet... And also when you land, you have to hit exactly that spot on the hill that you launched from, or else your kite will not be caught .:) Locals say it is good to see exactly where your feet are when you launch so you can come back to same spot when you land

Kited Stevenson this week. You stand on rocks next to the river with your kite on a hill at about 60 degrees. Some guy throws your kite into a gust. If you haven't broken your legs on the rocks or had your kite drift into the blackberries, you go kiting. woohoo!
