Finishing up my second season (1 1/2 really) and had an amazing year.

Got to move from riding only Alameda to Bodega, 3rd and TP. Learned to ride upwind and on a strapless surfboard. Nailed one gybe but plenty of practice and ready to get consistent next season. Got way upwind and worked on keeping the kite powered heading straight downwind. Picked up a great quiver to replace me junker learning kites.

Next season goals: jumps, more transitions, get out into the ocean and tackle Sherman Island.

See some of you out on the snow hopefully.

Landed some new strapless moves this summer - fun stuff.
After 100's of attempts, I landed a couple of strapless backrolls (no grab)
My new favorite is a grab transition landing fin first toe side.
After hurting my knee twice (toe side jump transition) I guess some moves are still for kids.

For anyone who is getting slightly bored and not up to unhooking - buy an old light surfboard (5'8 - 6'3" x 18-19" wide) and give the strapless stuff a try

Speaking of getting barreled...

In 2012:

Took the straps off and kept them off.
Now able to manage head high surf w/o straps.
Little olli hops strapless (really little)
Nailing jibes almost all the time
Totally forgot how to ride a twin tip.
New (to me) quiver.
Built a new shaping room to I can start mowing foam again.
2 trips to Baja

Great year. Can't wait to see what happens in 2013.

funny how you need to recalibrate when switch from the surf to the TT. yesterday I couldn't tack to save my life, and the jibes were pretty terrible too. I guess you gotta use it or lose it.

Ramsey truth. I went out at the beach Tuesday on a TT and it was a challenge. I was about 7/10 landing everytime I popped going out

My poor TT has been abandoned in my closet since July.

Right, finished this years progression this weekend. "Duedrop" onto the wave face.
That would be a strapless surfboard kiteloop, grab the windward rail, board drag, backroll, outbound, finishing the move onto the wave face as it it peaks, right into a toe side left, surfing the wave. Nailed a few on Saturday.

Now to just get it on video...
