THIS WEEK:

One of the top riders out of the Midwest with a long track record with RRD, Nick Bowers is the new North American distributor for the Italian Company and joins us this week to talk about it's 2007 Product Line. With 8 new boards and 5 new kites lined up, Nick is ready to answer any questions you might have and explain what gear works best for what kinds of riders, skill level, and riding conditions.

Got a question for Nick about RRD new 07 products or the kiting scene in the Midwest? Get your questions answered REAL TIME during ASNews.net's live interview this Thursday. Interactively participate by logging into The Kiteboarder Lounge at www.CherryTap.com.

When: This Thursday November 9, 2006
Time: 6pm PST, 8pm Central, 9pm EST

We will collect all your questions, and you can listen to the recorded broadcast at your convenience. Be aware though you will miss out on some very fun and candid stuff, that inevitably happens during a live interview!

Last night, listeners enjoyed an excellent interview with Nick from RRD.

Nick has some very interesting things to say about:
C-Kites - why he thinks they'll make a comeback
Kite Construction- why panel construction make a difference to aerodynamics of the kite (fabric stretches, seams don't)
Bows/SLE's - false sense of security? There is no one kite quiver
How kiteboarding is viewed in Europe versus US
RRD Zippers - what do they really do and why hasn't anyone copied them?
Which products are best for what type of riders and their specific riding conditions
bars- their evolution and props to naish and north

and of course, much, much, more... ! Tune in at www.thekiteboarder, download the podcast from ASnews.net or kiteforum.tv.

Most of all, enjoy! The podcasts allow you to cut through the marketing hype and ask your questions straight to the source, either by posting your questions on your local forum, or tuning in real time to the show every thursday night....

For some reason, when I try to listen to the rrd news deal, I just get stuck in a loop on the ads....Is anyone else have this issue?

Ollie - A guy in Europe just got his...was talking a bit on kiteforum:

The SPS works justat intended - same as on the HT. A great feature based on simplicity and reliability.

The kite is as responsive as the T7 on the edge af the window, but spinns less. This is ballanced by the kite flying faster IMHO. There is bigger air and hangtime in this kite compared to the T7. Same as the 06 Hir i gues.

For unhooked waveriding this is the kite for me. For hooked I'll go for the HyperType. In freestyle the T8 surely kills!

IF the interview focuses exclusively on RRD, then isn't the whole thing really just an ad?

It's like people used to be pissed about ads for Coke during the movie previews.
