Anyone want to sell me their old windsurf board?

Post by windhorny » Mon Nov 06, 2006 11:59 pm

I am trying to make a motorized surfboard for the down season. I got the engine but no board. I would need to have something relatively bouyant as it has 75lbs of additional crap to go in it. So a 10' minimum. I know Ikite has alot of them but I figure I would try this venue as well.

Thanks

Yuri

Also, what would be a guess of how fast a typical long board would need to go to start planing?

I'll call you later today, thanks. As long as it can float me+75lbs of crap +the board and possibly plane at 10 mph??? Unlikely project I know as the guys who actually make this work are using a 40hp 250cc engine! But then again I just want to ave fun out tehre on the light wind days not jump waves.

Sold a Surf-jet last time this year.

I think you are going to need a really big board to make it work. I would do a search for "surfjet" and use it as a model.

I just read a spec saying the powerski has 350lbs of thrust! Yikes, I didnt realize they were so high. The elctric motor I had has 56lbs. DOH! My dreams are shattered.

Do you know if you can legally use the one you had here in CA?
