visiting Bay area - any kitespots?

Post by ridethatglide » Thu Jul 20, 2006 2:57 am

Hello,

I'll be visiting the Bay area next week - july 27-31st.

Does anyone have any good kiting spots recommendations for this time of year?

Also, I've noticed a few events posted and am interested in having some fun and demoing some of the newer bow kites. If anyone knows of shops that do demos, or of any place that will be good for the weekend, I'd appreciate hearing from you. Am looking at buying some kites too, if i demo something I like.

I'm from Canada. Will bring my gear with me. Is the water cold....should I bring a wetsuit?

Any info is appreciated in advance.

thank you,
Maria

depending on your skills: Typically 3rd AV or Chrissy Field Or Sherman. For low wind riding Alameda. For waves the coast. Wetsuit required for the coast and Chrissy field, on other spots not required but good to have. I always go with just to be safe out there.
