This years Pismo Beach Kite Expo experienced less than perfect conditions with light winds throughout most of the weekend ending with rain Sunday but it didn't keep everyone in attendance from having a great time, connecting with new and old friends and checking out and demoing all the newest gear from Best, Caution, Cabrinha, Flexifoil, Liquid Force, MBS, Ozone, Ocean Rodeo, North, Slingshot and KiteRelease. Lots of great prizes from the kite sponsors along with other items from Kitesurfari, Murrays, Captain Kirks, DaKine and Mystic Kiteboarding were raffled off every day with the grand prize winners receiving a trip to Brazil with Best Kiteboarding and Kite Adventures; a kite of the winners choice from participating manufacturers Best, Slingshot, North, Ocean Rodeo or Liquid Force; a board of the winners choice courtesy of Best, Slingshot, North, Ocean Rodeo or Liquid Force; and a one week/7-day stay at a new 'casita' of Captain Kirk's down in La Ventana. Not Bad!
Friday was sunny and partly cloudy and the wind came up quickly and strongly and brought a frenzied round of kiting for a solid hour until it ramped down a bit. Saturday was awesome weather, perhaps not for kiting, but for hanging out on the beach it couldn't be beat. The bonfire party Saturday night was killer with plenty of food and beer for everyone. Sunday was overcast and rainy, but many hung out long enough to be present for the final raffle held at 1PM under the RedBull tent.
A great time was had by all. Thanks to everyone who helped to put the event together!

Come to think of it, i think LMG and Gibby were there, I saw them making their rounds once or twice. Discovery? Everything looked good to me, I don't think anyone could go wrong with any of the products now. I think the main factors one owuld consider would suitability to one's style, personal preference and budget. I didn't demo or ride anything due to an injured knee but had a great time nevertheless.
