Killer Sea Lion!

Post by Don Bogardus » Fri May 12, 2006 11:30 am

Oakland trib had article about a 1000lb bull sea lion that
has attacked two people recently at the Berkeley Marina!.

Both were engaged in fishing activity, but one was seriously
injured as the annimal tried to drag her off of a boat!.

Just some "food" for thought if you happen to get stuck in
the dead hole, and have to self rescue!

Okay, so Sander is just good with photoshop, right?

In that second picture, is the sea lion eating an otter? Yikes.

The thing about fisherman, is they usually have dead fish around them, and probably have fingers & clothes that smell like fish. Sounds to me the sea lions is just going after his natural predator. Poor little guy is just hungry from all the over fishing of the bay.
The sea lions at ob are curious but usually keep their distance from surfers.
I don't think kiters have much to worry about, but this does sound like a juicy theme for a straight for video movie.
