Berkeley/Pt. Emery Beach Cleanup - April 1 - No Joke!

Post by OliverG » Thu Mar 16, 2006 10:02 pm

Hey everyone, it's that time of year again! After a long Winter of big storm surges and higher than normal tides, the beach at Pt. Emery is once again in need of some care. Bay Area Kiteboarding along with the City of Emeryville is organizing another beach clean up scheduled for Saturday April 1. We'll post more details soon.

I hear that next the Emeryville City Council is going to dedicate April 1st to kiters. "It just seemed like such an appropriate date for the event..."

Good job organizing the cleanup! I will be there too.

Also want to point out that it's allowed to pick up trash on other days as well =D>

From Surfpulse: "Please pick up a piece of trash on your way up the beach after surfing. The beach could be spotless if we all did this each time we surfed."

Watched people in orange coats picking up but not picking up trash on Wednesday afternoon!

I have baby duty that day so my cleanup may be limited to little more than dirty diapers.
But I'll definitely be there and I'll bring some doughnuts.
Maybe if everyone brings a bag of sand we can enlarge the beach a little too...
