The Mavericks Big Wave contest is today with >30 ft wave faces.
OK so who is going to be the first to kite Mavs?
There are offshore winds today, perfect for surfing. But that place often gets the NW winds.
Some windsurfing friends of mine have tried it and bailed because of light winds.
I have seen web footage of someone kiting Jaws on Maui.
In any case you'd have to have some huge cajones b/c the consequences of wiping out could be deadly. I can't imagine going through the spin cycle with kite lines to worry about...
