Those lines are fine. Realistically, 800# X 2, thatís a lot of force, much more than your weight.
As for quadrifoils, it depends on the model like any other brand. If these are buggy race kites, they will be harder to control and board with. I tried once a race kite and it was very on off. If these are low aspect slower and more stable kites, it will be easier.

My view is the harder it the kite is to control the faster your learning curve will be. I think if you are comfortable with the kites give them a try. If you get powerful spikes then you'll have to learn to either use your edge on the snow, or lean against the power on land. It wasn't to long ago that no kites were depowerable. In the early days guys that used a kite that was depowerable were called "chicken", that's why it's called a chicken loop. You had to use your edge to control the gust. Either way you go you'll get used to the kite/board and be ready for spring.
