From Kiteforum: new North Quick Release Problem - pls read!

Looks like the 06 bar's quick release hardware has the potential of getting snagged up in (non-North?) spreader bars.

Don't see how this would really solve the problem, but a possible solution:

 WARNING! NKB Iron Heart
Dear Dealer,
There has been some discussion concerning the functionality of our new Iron Heart safety
device on the internet forums. You may have also received some feedback from your customers
and we would like to make the following statement about the Iron Heart.
In designing our new Iron Heart quick release we primarily tested it with North harnesses and
checked the compatibility with several others brands as well. Unfortunately we did not realize
that there were hooks on the market, which bend so severely as to possibly inhibit the proper
functioning of the Iron Heart.
Please take note of this and inform your customers about the following possible issues:
Issue 1.
The hooks on some manufacturerís spreader bars are too severely
bent to enable the Iron Hearty to safely release properly in some
instances. There exists a possibility when released that the ring on the
end of the chicken loop could get hung up in the hook and prevent the
safety system from performing properly.
So before using your Iron Heart make sure you check that your
harness hook is fully compatible with the Iron Heart.
A solution to this issue is to bend the hook so that the opening is wide enough to enable the ring
at the end of the chicken loop to pass through easily with no chance of getting caught.
Solution:
We have already modified the specifications in production and the new Iron Hearts leaving our
factory are equipped with a ring that will fit through all harnesses that are currently on the
market. Also a new spare part of just the chicken loop will be produced and sent out to dealers
in the beginning of next year for exchanges. As production and delivery may take some time we
would like to ask you to communicate this topic to your customers and make sure everybody is
well aware of it.

Be aware that this is not the only one problem. The same metal part can also be catched INBETWEEN the hook. This can rearly happen but by Murphy it will happen... Follow up KF if youhave an Iron Heart. K
