Crossbow vs. Rapture?

Post by Pablito(guest) » Sun Aug 14, 2005 10:33 am

The consensus on the Crossbow so far seems to be that it can replace several kites in your quiver without any sacrifice (except maybe, $). WW folks are making comparisons with the Rapture in terms of flatness, depower, etc. But I haven't heard anyone claiming that their Raps can fill three spots in their quiver. Is the scuttlebutt that the '06 Rap is going to compete with the Crossbow?

Of course, you could get two or three Raps for the price of one 12M Crossbow...

Anyone?

i saw the new ww proto and the crossbow side by side at the gorge this week. the new ww proto still looks like a c kite, and has a x bridle like the contra has. The ww didnt seem solid like the crossbow and i didnt see any notary jumps out of it... i wouldnt be surprised if they need to adopt a full leading edge bridle to get the stability....

i did see the crossbow in the hands of cameron ditrich an jaime, and saw the highest and furthest jumps id ever seen. they were taking the 12out when others were coming in on 10's... from what i could gather, it was jaime's first time out....and he was pulling what looked like 40-50 footers that he would end with a downloop. not that it is the safest thing to do, i saw cameron launch the lite without even having a harness on ... and just walked it over to jaime with his finger in the chickenloop.... i had just come in powered on my 10m rhino...

well if you go back in my blog, its all i rode this year 12m rapture it was a 14 ,12, and a 10.
its like 3 kites. the crossbow looks to be a next gen
i really like that my rapture has no bridles to get chought on stuff
i rode my 12m rapture all day today in the delta, i rode with alot of 10m
i also rode with a 12m crossbow,it gos up wind very well as the rapture will too
this desinge is going to help keep us out on the water more
be safer and give good boost (i think you have to get used to the send it part on both kites)
i got my rapture for about half of the cost of a crossbow?

Charlie,
Where's your blog?

Do you think the depower and relaunch on the Rap is as good as the Crossbow?

Charlie, how does the Rapture handle on your powerlock bar compared to the WW bar you have? Did you have to add some throw to your bar, or is it how you would ride your other kites?

that bar works on all my kites

price per hour rode on my rapture i got more them my moneys worth and more.
i had to baby the rapture on land .

i wore out the bar ,
i like the cc bar on the rapture but when i rode my power lock and extra throw setup i liked it too, more feel for the kite,
i have let the kite roll back deep into the pockit ,load up and bam
sheet out and nothing happens the kites just gos to the top of the window.
the kite has given me lots of confindence i can just sheet out a bit or all the way and still fly it .
as far as relunch gos i relunch the rapture revers then just gab a side ,sheet out and go .
i like to relunch kinda hot as i do my nitros and keep the board on .

as far as advice get a rapture to beat on(cheap now) then after you get it dialed in and you dont mind bridles, go for it ?

Pablito,

It's time you became a member of the site. Most people only allow members to read their blog. (I am one of those people too). What are you waiting for???

Blair,
I am a member of the site, but there is some glitch between my browser and the site that won't let me log on using my password. I have reset it several times, and it always says "Your password is expired".

I mentioned it to Ollie once at the beach, but never followed up on it.

Maybe he'll read this post and give me some suggestions...
