Do any of you know if you can go from Coyote point down wind to 3rd ave? I told someone this may be possible, since Alameda is becoming "law beach." I think it would be good to have some alternative sites other than Sherman to do downwinders at, that were worth while.

You can easily do downwinders from Coyote to 3rd but it is typically always windy at third so it is not really neccessary.

I just asked because my friend can't go upwind yet. I figure if Alameda was crowded on a weekend, it might be better to take her there so she could just do one big downer instead of dealing with Alameda's new rules.

Try it on your own first before you bring along someone who can not go upwind.
It is not a pure downwinder.
Take your friend to kitopia first for a pure downwinder.
It's safer.
