that's what i was refderring to. THey also emailed me an additional word doc that told me to do a loop to loop connection between the 5th and hte leash. it works for safety but the line is too long. I ended up returning the bar and getting a naish bar instead. Haven't tried it yet though...

When you do the loop to loop with the safety leash, through the center hole, then you will have to adjust the length of the 5th line connected to the kite, by making a couple figure eight knots on the line with 6-8 inches distance each and connect your fifth line to those.
This way the fifth line will not be too long and will be performing as expected.

We have found this small mod. to be the easiest so far.

The new bar coming out end of July / beg. of August is addressing addressing this issue.

Let me know if you have more questions.

What bar size do you recommend for ZH 13m?

52cm works the best on the ZH.
8m, 10m and 13m come with the same size bar.

16m, 20m, 24m come with the 60+cm bar (recommended for these sizes)

What is the line length recommended for the 13?

Are there better options than the standard ZH bar? SS, North and Naish have nice 5 lines bars. I like the SS for the ability to trim the 5th line from the bar.

all the ZHs come with 25m lines. I just got my naish bars and I will post up to let you know how they work on the ZH as soon as I try it. (hopefully tonight). The naish bar looks so much better than the ZH bar. 8)

finally had some wind again. The ZH works awesome with the naish shift bar. Turns just as fast and relaunches super easy. You just have to lengthen your 5th line leader line by a good foot, otherwise there is no power in the kite.

How tight does the fifth line have to be? Is it something you can play with, or something you have to nail exactly?

not sure. i doubt it has to be exact. It only took me 2 tries to set up the length right.

The tighter the 5th line the less power for the ZH kite.
Overall you should have the 5th line a little loose, but not hanging.
Also, make sure the 5th line is over the front lines.
