It appears more backlash as a result of the US attacks and war on Iraq has taken place, this time in the UK, presumably in connection with the British governments support of the war. I'm sorry to have heard about this, it's very sad. How the American people have continued to support the current president and the governments policies and actions is beyond me. :(

From www.michaelmoore.com:

Multiple explosions hit London morning rush hour mass transit system--in subways and double-decker buses--leaving many injured and dead.

Tony Blair, speaking from Scotland, says the attacks were timed to coincide with the start of the G8 summit. Rather than spend the day hopscotching around his country in an airplane, Mr. Blair will return to London to survey the damage and lead his nation.
"Whatever they do, it is our determination that they will never succeed in destroying what we hold dear in this country."

Countering Blair's G8 theory, "The Secret Organization of al-Qaida in Europe" has claimed responsibility, and they've got little to say about the G8 and a lot to say about the war on terror:
"We continue to warn the governments of Denmark and Italy and all crusader governments that they will receive the same punishment if they do not withdraw their troops from Iraq and Afghanistan."

British police reportedly warned the Israeli embassy of possible terror attacks moments before the explosions began:
Israeli Finance Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had planned to attend an economic conference in a hotel over the subway stop where one of the blasts occurred, and the warning prompted him to stay in his hotel room instead, government officials said.

Eyewitness accounts, from the Financial Times:
ìAll of a sudden the roof of the approaching bus was blown off 5 metres into the air before it fell in front of the bus.î

London's Stock Exchange tumbles, taking European markets with it.

Just yesterday London won the race to host the 2012 Olympics. Fair & balanced FOX News anchor John Gibson reflected on this choice yesterday:
All day long people have been saying to me, "Wasn't it great they didn't pick Paris?" And I've been saying, "No, no, no."

Paris was exactly the right place to pick and the Olympic committee screwed up.

Why? Simple. It would have been a three-week period where we wouldn't have had to worry about terrorism.

First, the French think they are so good at dealing with the Arab world that they would have gone out and paid every terrorist off. And things would have been calm.

Or another way to look at it is the French are already up to their eyeballs in terrorists. The French hide them in miserable slums, out of sight of the rich people in Paris.

So it would have been a treat, actually, to watch the French dealing with the problem of their own homegrown Islamist terrorists living in France already.

The religion of peace strikes again.....yeah, I guess we should become more "liberal" like the euro nations and let the friendly terrorist live in the general population....what is the worst thing that can happen??

Everyone has different views, and we do have the freedom to express our views, which I'm thankful for. But the way these types of incidents are dealt with, recently in the last few years anyway, only perpetuates the problem and increases the liklihood of more occurances.

Rick Steves, a well-known travel guru was in London at the time and this is what he says, which is makes sense to me, anyway:
