Was there an implicit weather forecast in that "just for the food..." comment? Like you don't think there will be any wind?
Hehe, no, not at all, it's just the icing on the cake really (the food). I think there's a good chance for wind. We've had varying levels of fog and marine layer on the Bay all week, and inland things have been heating up. I just left to come home a couple hours ago from being on the bay and the wind was strong, and the fog was drifting in, fast. Despite any other forecasts, I think there will be wind. Perhaps not midday, but morning and afternoon.

Here you can see that there's quite a marine layer and quite a bit of fog.

Well, my opinion and forecast is pretty simplistic. I think Zeev might have a few others sources that I haven't looked at, i.e. NWS discussions, etc.

Ollie,
You can access the NWS discussion on www.wunderground.com. Type in the place or zip, then scroll down past the 7 day forecast and click on the link for "NWS technical discussion." (or something like that)

After you've read a few of them, you can sort out the meteorolist-speak and pick out the gems of information that are important. Some of the guys are actually pretty funny. Especially when they admit that they have zero clue about what is going to happen more than 24 hours or so out.

Hi all,

I just wanted to thank Donny, Sandy, and all North crews, KWS staff, and everyone involved to make the wonderful July 4th weekend happened at Sherman. It was one of the best sessions I've ever had. Too bad that I don't live close to Rio, but it sure is a wonderful place to kite, not only to kite but to hang out with all that cool people around. You made kiters welcomed and made us smile and stoked. Thank you and see you soon!
