I was in the water at Alameda yesterday but luckily am not showing any symptoms. My nephew, however, has rash on his legs from this bacteria. Watch out!

How does the water know???
Just wondering, how does the water know to stay in Alameda? Not that far of a trip to crissy, Berk, TI.....humans really suck sometimes.....stop putting shit in the water.
It's not humans. The rash is caused by the lavea of a snail that's typically found on the east coast. The rash is called swimmer itch and affects many areas on the east coast for a few weeks a year.
It's annoying but not harmful. To avoid it, rinse off with fresh water when you're done with your session and TOWEL OFF. Toweling off after a fresh water rinse seems to do the trick.
