Hey everyone,

There is another PASA instructor certification coming to the bay area July 5th-9th. This is your chance to help contribute to the fun and safety of the sport and get paid. Not only that, but you can get kites at discounted rates and write off your kiting equipment. :P

We're looking for full-time, part-time or occassional instructors who are passionate about kiting, safety, teaching and the beach life.

Instructor Certification Course Date: July 9th through 13th

Please let me know as soon as possible if you are interested in
participating.
There need to be a minimum of 6 instructor candidates, and a maximum of 10 for the course.

Below you will find a brief description of the PASA ICP.

Prerequisites and more info for the PASA Level One Kiteboard Instructor
ICP:

This 5 Day certification course is designed for kiteboarders desiring
to become Level 1 PASA certified instructors.
Prerequisites for this course are the ability to kite upwind, perform
advanced turns, maintain control in most wind conditions and perform
simple jumps.

This course takes an instructor candidate through kite and instruction
theory, kite rigging and repair, a basic understanding of meteorology
and itís effects on kiting, school site evaluation, emergency recovery
systems as well as effective teaching and communication tools.

The mix of theory and hands on teaching gives the instructor candidate
the skills necessary to become a safe, competent and communicative
instructor.

To receive your Level I PASA instructor certificate (after the ICP) you
must submit current CPR and First Aid (Approved Courses available
through Red Cross and American Heart Assoc.).
You also need to get a BoatSafety course certification.

The cost of the PASA ICP course is $500.00.
(This fee does not include CPR, First Aid training, BoatSafe course or
the annual professional membership dues)

Here is more logistical info on the ICP:

Course hours each day are 9am - 6pm

What to bring:

- beach chair
- kiteboarding gear to ride for yourself
- warm wetsuit, booties
- if you have kite gear you will teach with, bring it all, other wise
there is instructional kite gear provided
- water, snacks
- pen & paper, clipboard
- sunglasses, sunblock
- change of clothes, towel etc. etc.

How to register for a PASA Level One Instructor Certification Program
(ICP):

To register for an ICP, instructor candidates have to first be or
become a current Professional member of PASA, the annual dues are
$150.00, more info at http://www.pasakiteboarding.org/Login.aspx

Then - To sign up for an ICP go to
http://www.pasakiteboarding.org/EventCalendar.aspx, click on the month
of the desired ICP date, then hit "select" on the ICP you would like to
sign up for , then hit "sign up" to fill in the necessary info.
