Renting a kiteboard in the BA?

Post by kite2surf » Wed Jun 08, 2005 10:01 am

Hi Guys and Gals,

I am traveling from overseas to visit family and friends at home in the BA . I still call the BA home although I have not lived there for years!

I have not yet kitesurfed in the bay waters but plan to do so next week when visiting. I am praying to the wind Gods for good wind.

I do not want to deal with the hassle of traveling with a board. Kites are easy to deal with. I also have to deal with my young dauther's stuff. Never fun when passing through airports.

Perhaps you can steer me to a shop that rents or does demos (i.e. try and buy). Any ideas are appreciated.

Tear it up!

Tim

If you're riding in the East Bay, you can rent boards at Kite Wind Surf :yawinkle:

Hi Folks,

Thanks for the input. I just learned a buddy has a board he can loan me. I am waiting on the dims.

Just in case, where is Kite Wind Surf located (Alameda, Berkeley or Oakland)?

Mmmm............. the downwinder sounds fun! Never done a long haul downwinder B4. What is the typical kite size used for an average guy 170lbs?

Cheers,

Tim

KiteWindSurf is in Alameda (www.kitewindsurf.com)

Typical kite size for the downwinder, depending on conditions, would be a 12, although if one was done yesterday, it would have been a 10 for sure. It's a blast!
