Hi Guys,
I'm thinking about visiting the Bay Area in July to stay with some friends. I've recently started kiting in South Africa and was wondering what conditions are like around July. I have my own 12sqm kite - how's the wind around that time of the year? Too strong? Just right?
What beaches can be recommended? Given that I will probably spend quite a bit of time in the water, where would be a good place? Few people, no sharks etc... ?
Thanks in advance!
Christian

Hi Christian,
July kiting here is excellent. Inland valley heating combined with cooler coastal fog creates great winds at many local spots. A 12m kite would be fine for many local areas, including Alameda, 3rd. Ave, Crissy Field, Berkeley, Marina Bay, Sherman Island, etc.
Browse the information about all the local riding spots on the main section of the website here for more details. Crowds may or may not be factor depending on when and where you go.
Sharks aren't much of a concern here in the Bay, but with you kiting in South Africa, I can understand your concern.
If you have any more questions, feel free to post them.
