Hey all,

Throw your ideas into the mix. What kind of social kiteboarding events or mixers would you like to see? A BBQ at the beach or Delta, a evening warehouse party? Anything else? What interests you? Kiteboarders tend to be fun-loving people, so let's hear what yout think!

Ollie,
When I was learning to kite last year at SI I used to leave my bike down by the power lines. I'd launch at Little Baja, downwind to the spot where my kite was, self-rescue, stash my gear in the bushes, then bike back to my truck.

Thing was, I found out that biking back to Little Baja was more work than kiting downwind. On a stiff wind day, you might as well be riding up a steep hill.

I thought it would be a good race -- a downwinder from the beach, then bike back to the parking lot.

If you wanted to get really hardcore, you could downwind to Windy Cove, and bike back to Sherman from there. That would really separate the men from the boyz.

I have a hard time kiting down wind now. Maybe on a flood at sherman. I find it hard to get back down wind to the launch on a strong ebb.

If you swim and run on the way back, you got a kite triathlon. You can also make the kiting upwind to make it harder. :)

Bring back the river run! Sherman Island Park to Windy Cove sounds fun. You drivin'?

As for mixers I recommend hard liquor and ample companionship. Try craigslist.com :^o or frugaljohn.com for dance partners. Can you believe the power of the internet?

*Black Tie Event*

I need to use my tux.
Mix in - Fine Cigars and Fine 18 year olds!

For those without tux black neoprene would do.

Some kind of party or get together would be cool. I may even be down with bringin out the turntables but I would need to practice a bit first. I would also have to put a mix on this site to see if people are into it. =D>
