Hopefully I didn't skim over this already having been posted, but a few questions:

Are these events watchable by bystanders, or do they take place out of sight for those on land?

Can these events be viewed only from the yacht club, or from Chrissy Field and surrounding public areas.

Is there a fee to watch from the Yacht Club as a non member?

Since the events run into the evening, is the normal dress code enforced, or would we be viewing from outside where there is a less strict dress code.

Do I need to wear one of these to get in the club?

Yes, you can see the course from the cocktail lounge, will need to wear a nautical hat, fly a burgee and perhaps a matching ascot and bluie blazer would be appropriate. Or, maybe just your Sponge Bob shirt will do.

(Actually just show up and walk thru their front door, buy drink tickets at the desk and check out the yachtie-chicks while drinking.)

Results to date:

1st Course Racing Event:
Light winds, almost no wind on inside marked by inability to execute a proper start and to round the marker to finish. Inconclusive.

2nd Course Racing Event:

Caution team riders (The Billy Goats) migrate upwards from Santa Cruz and trounce all local Bay riders with superior upwind skills and rapid downwind tacks.

Here's the press release from Caution patting themselves on the back, as the are entitled to do:

Caution Kites Dominates San Francisco Thursday Night Race Series and Baffles All Other Riders Taking First through Fourth Place Overall 5/12/05

The Caution Team consisting of Peter Schiebel, Poul Schiebel, Dave Broome, Aaron Harsh and Brendon Richards took top five spots in almost every heat during the latest San Francisco Thursday Night Race series. The Caution Team was unstoppable with it upwind speed and edge control in the choppy gusty conditions, dominating every heat and taking Top Four Places overall! The Caution Crew was flying the SpitFire 2 14m and 16m kites, and riding the 122, and 132 Caution High Performance Redline twin tips. No other kite even came close to the speed, range, and stability that the Spitfire 2 kites gave the Caution team for upwind and downwind performance. Other riders and by standers where baffled at the pure domination. Look for a Caution Demo event at Crissy Field in the next few weeks.

3rd Course Racing Event:

Caution placed first again, followed by locals riders in 2nd and 3rd. There is hope!
