Hi!! I have the next week off and I want to spend it learning how to kite surf. Is there anyone who can take me on as a student on such a short notice? I am ready to pay very reasonable rates.

Is there no one who is interested? You don't have to be a certified instructor. I called around some local kite surfing schools and they are all booked this week. I don't want to have to go down to LA to do this :(

At $50/hr, that's gotta be worth someone's time!

There's no wind, and if there is wind anyone who is good enough to teach would be out kiting. That's the problem with teaching is when it's windy you have to work.

Part of the problem also is that no one I know of would be willing to assume any liability involved in teaching a paying individual "off the books" so to speak. All local schools are certified and carry insurance, and thus protected from any liability. Unfortunately, that's just the way it is, insurance effects everyone's cost and ability to do things more and more whether it's driving a car, staying healthy, running a business, owning a home, and even teaching someone how to kiteboard.

Hope your lessons with the school you found go well!
