Hello, the beach is covered with driftwood making launching and landing difficult.
Because of water runoff from the mountains, there is a stronger than normal current not reflected in published tide charts.

If you are down in that current, you will be swept away.
Construction work for 6 weeks impacting parking and access, March through April.

Re: Crissy field special notice
The contractor meeting today confirmed that fencing and other materials will start to be delivered to East Beach parking lot tomorrow. You and others will start to see the staging area set up and parking diminish, but closures won't begin until next week.
There will be no after hours access through the construction area. The access to the beach remains the same - just east of the marsh bridge. I have not been able to confirm (or not) the closure of the berm. The closure is not for staging but to keep people out of the promenade work. I am still checking on that.
As far as the marsh opening, expect it happen soon.
