Sherman Island forecast

Post by gmiller88 » Mon May 09, 2016 8:28 am

Looking at the pro forecast yesterday and today on ikitesurf the advisory was "winds at Access" only. Then when I looked at the M12 meter for yesterday afternoon it looked rideable. Can someone help me understand how to interpret the pro forecast when they talk about Access? Is it worth heading up this afternoon?

The Access
Located just before the county park at the end of the road leading to Martin’s Marina. A wide sandbag launch is provided by RVWA/SIKO volunteers. Additional launches, both upwind and downwind, make this a safe area for those still working on staying upwind. The large grassy parking area makes The Access a wonderful place to sail!

Ikitesurf uses "The Access" as a simple reference point for the wind conditions at Sherman Island County Park. The Access is located between two popular launch spots... Sherman Isle Kite Beach and Little Baja.

There are more make believe launches on that site than there are make believe micro-neighborhoods in San Francisco - love it!
