Puerto Rico / December tips

Post by mcfly777 » Wed Nov 04, 2015 12:36 pm

I will be in Puerto Rico in early December. What are the good spots to kite there? I searched the site but there's very old information only. I am bringing my 8 and 10m kites.

thanks
Leo

"The Ocean Park" - somewhat narrow beach, but long, sandy and safe. Finding the right access point was tricky at first, because you have to navigate through a gated community on the East end, or go all the way down to town and walk back up the beach.

"Isla Verde" - this is where 15 kts kiteboarding school is. A bit of a waikiki vibe - with the large hotels directly on the beach. Which, actually, is great for lunch and post-kiting refreshments. Watch out for the swim rope when riding out.

My friend and I are going to PR in December too. We are looking to get around most of the island and maybe even culebra too, if it's worth it for kiting. (?)... What about the south end like La Parguera? Any more info would be awesome! We are starting our trip at Ocean Park in SJ. Cheers
