Wow, I still can't believe this. Royce was a character – one that added so much to the local scene as well as Baja. I've had several conversations about FJ Cruiser's with him, which makes this whole thing hard to understand and take in. He's owned 2-3 over the years to my knowledge.

Thoughts and prayers to his family. RIP Royce.

Wow, this is incredibly sad...Royce lived in West Oak. and definitely had a love for the Easy Bay, I talked with him just weeks ago about Oakland. So sad that crime played a role in his passing...

Will always remember his KGB BBQs (complete with kegs and tequila), Toll Plaza demo days, and his always on stoke for getting out on the water! RIP Royce.
Rock and roll!!!

I am just plainly shocked. RIP.

I only knew him as I bought a used kite form him a good year ago and he seems like a blast of a guy. Now I have to ride the kite to honor him. A good way to remember.

I plan to be there and look forward to celebrating his life with so many others that he touched.

I do think we should call it Royce Beach - not Royce's - in honor of Royce and so as not to imply ownership.

I'd met Royce before but didn't know him well. FWIW, I completely agree: "Royce Beach" has a really cool ring to it. Much better idea. I'll there with y'all in spirit on Saturday.
