I have a last-minute trip to the east coast of Australia, thought I'd check if I could kite. Does anyone know the conditions there at this time? Seems like their summer season is over and now I'd have to go to the NW of the country which is a bit far from where I'll be. I've never been to Australia all I know is: sharks, jellyfish, crocs.
Any ideas?
thanks

Re: Australia East Coast (May)
The "east coast" of Australia is a very big place. At least as big as saying the east coast of the USA. If you're in Sydney you might get an occasional Southerly storm, but winter is not usually windy there. If you're further north, like Townsville or Cairns then you'll still get sea breezes as they don't really do winter in the tropics. Lot's of southerners head north for their winter kiting fix. Not sure about Brisbane. Take a look at http://www.seabreeze.com.au it's the equivalent of iKiteSurf but the forums are worthwhile.

Thanks. I will be in Melbourne and Sydney primarily, but I have family in Brisbane and can take a flight north if I have to. I am looking at Cairns as this seems to be my best bet.
