Nice! Thanks. Looks like the kites are gone, from that view anyway...
The water is cold now sor sure, but some of the Skypilot crew in Victoria recently did a downwinder in 7 degree conditions with wind chill on top of that in almost freezing water. The Canadians are nuts like that. :toimonster:

I stopped by Chrissy Field last Saturday, it was so cold I was having second thoughts about starting this sport :)

The lone kiter that was out came in, and his feet looked like they were about to fall off.

I am heading there this Saturday for sure. I don't normally like Crissy but I will go anywhere close for wind right now. The water has gotta be cold for sure. It is cold there in the summer. I will bear it if the wind is good and I can get a good session in.

Anyone know the best way to get to Crissy from Berkeley. It alwasy ends up taking me forever to get there. I go through the City but is there a direct route??

No easy way to get there I'm afraid. Might be a little easier coming from Marin, but going all the way around would defeat the point, wouldn't it?
That's the thing about the City... If it's blowing Saturday I may head out as well.

I guess I just gotta go early. I always wondered how people got there before me. I thought for sure I was going the long way.

I am going to map it out and see if I can find a fast route. I'll post here if I come up with something.

Hey Pipedragon,

I live 2 minutes from Crissy, so I'll share directions:

The easiest way from the Bay Bridge is to follow the Embarcedero North (up the odd numbered piers) then turn left on Bay (around Pier 23). When the 2 right lanes peel off towards the Bay, follow them right and you'll be on Marina Blvd. That goes straight to Crissy field.

I can think of ways to shave a few mintues off, but they would all involve you getting lost the first time or two.

Thanx man that will help. On of my main issues is trying to shortcut and then getting more and more lost. I need a stragiht shopt like you described. It is weird because I can see the golden gate bridge from my office in Berkeley but it so hard to get there. So close yet so far....Maybe I should just get a boat!!!

Hey if there is wind tommorw are you goin out? See ya there if so!!
